The other day, while I was folding laundry my three-year-old walking in holding a rock she found in the yard. “Mama, did God make this?” Her tiny question stopped me mid-fold, not because I didn’t know the answer – but because I realized this was a Kingdom moment.

Motherhood is full of these sacred interruptions. In the midst of crumbs, tantrums, and math worksheets, we’re doing holy work – we’re raising Kingdom kids. That doesn’t mean we need a perfect routine or theologically rich lessons planned every day. It means we teach faith in the everyday moments – right where we are.

Faith is Caught More Than Taught

Children watch everything. Before they can read Scripture, they read us. How we respond when plans change. How we pray when we’re anxious. How we speak to them and about others. Our kids are soaking it all in.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says,

"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

Faith isn’t a Sunday morning event – it’s a lifestyle we live out, moment by moment.

Everyday Conversations Are Sacred

Some of the most meaningful faith talks happen in the carpool line or during bedtime snuggles. Don’t underestimate the power of small conversations. Ask them what they think heaven looks like. Talk about forgiveness when a toy is snatched. Show them how to be grateful when dinner doesn’t go as planned,

You don’t need the perfect setting – just an open heart and listening ears.

Scripture as Part of the Rhythm

In our home, we try to make Scripture a part of our daily rhythm. Sometimes that looks like memory verses on the fridge or a sticky note on the bathroom mirror, Other times, it’s a short devotional at breakfast or a worship song playing while we clean.

God’s Word doesn’t return void – even if they’re wiggling, interrupting, or only half-listening.

Praying Out Loud with and for Them

Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have as mothers. And it doesn’t need to be fancy. Let them hear you thank God for the sunshine. Pray with them when they’re scared. Ask Jesus for help when you’re overwhelmed (yes, out loud). These prayers imprint deep truths: God is near. God listens. God cares.

Discipleship Through Discipline

Discipline is hard, but it’s also one of the most gospel-centered parts of parenting. When we correct with love, we point them to Jesus – the One who forgives, restores, and transforms hearts.

When my daughter was unkind to her brother, we talked about how sin hurts others and grieves God’s heart – but also how Jesus offers grace when we repent. Those moments are messy, but they’re holy too.

Let Them See Your Walk

You don’t have to be a perfect mom. You just need to be a rooted one.

Let your kids see you reading the Word. Let them hear you say, “I’m sorry.” Let them witness what is looks like to follow Jesus in real life – not flawlessly, but faithfully.

Friend, you’re planting seeds that will grow in God’s perfect timing. Keep showing up. Keep speaking truth. Keep pointing those little hearts to Jesus.

You are raising Kingdom kids – in car seats, at the kitchen sink, during nap time and math time – and heaven sees it all.

Let’s Root Together

How are you intentionally pointing your children to Jesus in the everyday? I’d love to hear from you!

Share your favorite faith-filled moments or simple routines in the comments below. And if this encouraged you, consider sharing it with a fellow mama who’s in the thick of raising little Kingdom warriors too. We’re better when we grow together.
