Hi, I’m Gabriella – a Jesus-loving wife, homeschooling mama, and writer of The Rooted Motherhood

Welcome, sweet friend! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Gabriella – wife to my best friend, mama to four precious children (Aspen, Summit, Cedar, and Ridge), and a first-generation homeschooler walking through motherhood clinging to the grace and truth of Jesus.

The Rooted Motherhood was born out of my own season of overwhelm – of longing to feel seen, understood, and connected to something deeper than just the day-to-day survival of motherhood. I was searching for encouragement that didn’t just sound nice but pointed me straight back to the heart of God.

What I found in that quiet searching was this:

  • I didn’t need to “get it all together.”
  • I just needed to stay rooted in Christ.

There was a time when I was striving hard – trying to be the “perfect mom,” run the picture-perfect home, and somehow still keep my faith intact.

But in the stillness of nap times and the chaos of tantrums, Jesus met me.

He reminded me that I wasn’t created to do this alone – and I certainly wasn’t created to do it all in my own strength. Slowly, I began surrendering the pressure, letting go of perfection, and stepping into a motherhood that’s rooted in purpose – not performance.

My testimony isn’t dramatic – it’s daily. It’s the daily choosing to follow Jesus when the dishes pile up and the baby won’t sleep. It’s worship in the minivan and prayers whispered over math lessons. It’s living a life poured out for Christ in the hidden, holy work of motherhood.

Mothering four little ones – each with their own unique personalities and needs – has shown me just how much I need Jesus.

Aspen, our bold and curious firstborn, reminds me to see the world with wonder.

Summit, full of energy and determination, challenges me to slow down and be present.

Cedar, gentle and imaginative, shows me the beauty of quiet joy.

Ridge, our littlest gift, has already taught me so much about trust and perseverance.

Every day with them is sanctifying, stretching, and shaping me more into the woman God is calling me to be.

We chose to homeschool not just for academics, but because we believe in discipling our children daily through Scripture, real-life experiences, and a rhythm of grace. Our homeschool, Root & Refuge Cottage School, reflects our desire to cultivate not just knowledge – but hearts rooted in Christ.

I needed a space to remind myself – and other mamas – that we’re not alone.

I longed for a community of women who were tired of hustle culture and ready to live slowly, intentionally, and faithfully – rooted in truth, not trends.

Here you’ll find:

  • Faith-based encouragement for Christian motherhood

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
